Q: What lakes do you serve?
A: Our boats may be rented for use on lakes in the western Twin Cities area such as Minnetonka, Medicine, Independence, etc. Delivery to launches beyond 25 miles from Plymouth will incur a charge of $0.50 per mile.
Q: Is a captain available?
A: Yes, I am available to serve as your boat captain! On Lake Minnetonka I'm currently restricted to providing captain services for 6 passengers maximum.
Q: Can your fishing boat be captained?
A: Yes, the fishing boat can be captained, but please note that I am not a professional guide and cannot guarantee a successful fishing trip. The same captain service rate applies.
Q: What is the cost of captain services?
A. $200 for 4 hours, $300 for 8 hours
Q: Are life jackets included with the rental?
A: Yes, we provide universal adult life jackets, with infant/child-size available upon request.
Q: What happens if the weather is poor on the day of my rental?
A: If we need to cancel your reservation due to weather conditions preventing boats to go out, you will receive a full refund. If you choose to cancel due to less than ideal weather conditions, we prefer to be notified the evening prior and we can reschedule to another day for a $100 transaction fee.
Q: What is your cancellation policy?
If you cancel at least 48 hours before your reservation, you'll get a full refund. If you cancel between 24 to 48 hours before your reservation, you can either move your reservation to another open date or receive a 50% refund. Any cancellations made less than 24 hours before your reservation will be charged the full amount.
Q: How old do I need to be to rent a boat?
A: Boat renters/drivers must be 21 years of age and have a valid driver's license.
Q: What is included with a pontoon rental?
A: Onboard cooler filled with ice, water cooler, cups, life jackets, beach towels
Q: Is there a deposit required at booking?
A: Yes - 25% of the full cost is charged at booking.
What do rentals cost?
Standard pricing is $500/4 hrs and $950/8 hrs for the pontoon and $400/4hrs and $650/8hrs for the fishing boat. The following discounts apply to bookings: weekdays (M-Th) 10%; April 20%, May and September 10%. The following premiums apply: fishing opener 30%, July 4th weekend and Memorial Day weekend 20%.
Q: What should I do if there is an issue with the boat during my rental?
A: Contact us immediately for assistance. While all our boats are well-maintained and issues are unlikely, we will guide you through any problems.
Q: Can I bring my dog?
A: No, pets are not allowed.
Q: Is tubing or skiing allowed with any equipment rental?
A: No, tubing and skiing are not permitted with our rentals.
Q: Can I trailer any of the units to other lakes?
A: No, trailer usage is prohibited due to insurance limitations. We will meet you at the lake and launch of your choice.
Q: Do I need to sign a liability agreement?
A: Yes, a liability agreement must be signed before any rental period.
Q: What should I do if I run out of fuel while on the water?
A: One tank of fuel is provided with the rental. If you need more fuel, contact us for delivery which carries a $50 fee plus the cost of the fuel. Alternatively, you can fill up yourself with non-oxygenated fuel only. Using alternative fuel will incur a charge for fuel removal and any damage to the motor.
Q: What is the length of the check-in and check-out period?
A: Please allow 15 minutes at the start and end of your rental period. We will provide you with any needed documentation and provide you with a boat walk through.
Q: What do I do if DNR or the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office stops me on the water?
A: All documentation needed will be in the unit and shown at check-in.
Q: Can I rebook the day of rental for a discount?
A: Absolutely! We offer a 10% discount if you book or notify us during the rental period.
Q: Can we drink alcohol on the boat?
A: Yes, alcoholic beverages are allowed on our rentals. However, the driver of the pontoon is strictly prohibited from consuming alcoholic beverages during rental.
